Our Story

Under the leadership of Dr. Mohamad Issa, Director, and Dr. Said Issa, Co-Director, Global Educational Excellence has grown from the founding of Central Academy in Ann Arbor into a broader educational organization focused on expanding high-quality learning options for families. Their shared vision helped shape GEE’s commitment to school choice, academic excellence, character education, cultural appreciation, and safe, welcoming learning environments for students and families.

Since the opening of Global Educational Excellence in 1998, GEE has continued to respond to communities seeking strong educational options and student-centered schools. Under their leadership, the organization has expanded its impact across the United States while also advancing international educational initiatives overseas. Today, GEE academies serve thousands of students across multiple campuses in the United States and abroad, reflecting GEE’s continued mission to develop global citizens, learners, and innovators.
