Central Academy is now accepting applications online for the 2024-25 school year.

APPLICATION REVIEW
After completing the first step, our Admissions Manager will review your child’s application. Once the review is completed and your child’s application has been accepted, we will notify you by the communication preferences that you selected on how to proceed with the next step.
COMPLETE REGISTRATION
Once your child’s application has been accepted, you will be asked to complete registration forms to finalize your child’s enrollment at our Academy. These forms will help identify certain information to better serve your child.
STUDENT ORIENTATION
We will contact you to schedule a date and time for you and your family to visit our academy for student orientation.

Central Academy is a tuition-free public school academy located in Ann Arbor, MI. Central Academy offers grades K-12 and also has a free GSRP preschool program for families that qualify. Central Academy educators are fully certified to teach by the Michigan Department of Education. Central Academy is authorized through Central Michigan University and governed by a public school academy board of directors.
Students have the opportunity to join a number of athletic programs, student council, academic games, and robotics clubs. We offer afterschool programming and a number of programs lead by the Parent and Family Involvement Group for students.
Students at Central Academy have the opportunity to begin in their freshmen year through senior year to be a dual-enrolled student at a local college or university. They will earn credits for both high school and college, as well as having experience in a college setting prior to being a full-time college student.
All textbooks and supplemental material are provided to students once enrolled. Central Academy has made arrangements with software and major publishers to ensure all our students have legal access to the resources necessary to complete their work at school and at home. Supplies lists are sent home at the beginning of the school year for all grades. Please check with your child’s teacher for more information. If you are unable to afford supplies, please let us know and we will do our best to assist you.

Central Academy is tuition-free for all Michigan residents that qualify for enrollment!
Seniors participate in a mandatory Capstone Project by selecting an area to research and hands-on experience by shadowing a careered professional that offers mentorship and experiential learning. Students present these projects to their fellow students and staff.
Our Academy provides each student with a laptop in school when required. Equipment is the property of Central Academy and must be returned when required to do so.
The Academy seeks to provide every child, regardless of national origin or native language, quality, and meaningful educational instruction. Each students is evaluated on his/her English language proficiency. Consequently, students who are English Language Learners (ELLs) are provided instructional services through ELL programs which are designed to meet each students unique needs.
High school students at Central Academy have access to counselors that support them when it comes to preparing for college. This includes resources for scholarships, financial aid, campus tours, enrollment applications and more. Every year, Central Academy invites counselors from all over the State of Michigan to visit our Academy and recruit students.
The law in Michigan governing compulsory student attendance requires a parent, legal guardian, or other person having control or charge of a child age six to sixteen to send the child to school during the entire school year, except under the limited circumstances. Please make sure your child is dropped off to school everyday and on on-time.
Student transcripts are evaluated on a course by course basis. Student credits can be transferred to our institution as long as they meet our graduation requirements. Foreign transcripts must be translated and evaluated before submission to the Academy.
